I am in the market for new tires and am leaning toward

the Dunlop Radial Rover RV in 255/85/16. I was wondering

if you guys or galls using this tire could tell me how you

like them. Do they wear well, good traction, ect? Thanks!

I can't comment on Dunlop other than I've generally heard good things and I think Fritz was running these tires which probably means they're good. I ran 255/85 BFG M/T's and I liked the size, fits well with no rubbing and looks good at 33" diameter.

No problem, glad to help plus I've been wondering about these tires myself - let us know how you like them if you go this route. I assume you're aware that these are 2" taller than 245/75 so they'll slow your acceleration and drop your cruise RPM's a bit. Shouldn't be as noticeable if you have 265/75 now.

I have the AT's in 285-75-16.

They grab better on wet pavement & snow, than the oe Michelins, BUT, they are wearing faster than I had hoped. Faster than the Michelins did.

I keep about 55 psi front, 45 rear (empty).

I anticipate getting 40-45k miles out of them. The oe Michelins that came on the truck would have gone 60k easy.

I did not like the Michelins in the rain, and these are definetly better, but next time, I think I will investigate a slightly more agressive Michelin (than the oe ones), and hopefully get a longer lasting tire.

Bottom-line, the Dunlops don't s&ck, but they wear faster than the Michelins.

I have the Dunlop Radial Rover A/T's (Dunlop recommended to me that I go with the A/T's over the RV's because the A/T's are the updated version?) in a 255/85. I have only had them for about 1. 5 months now, 8K miles. They handle pretty well, the tread is aggressive enough for my needs (occasional offroading), and they are warranteed for 50,000 miles. At first I thought they looked a little funny, being so skinny for their height, but that's because I was used to the 285/75's, looks good to me now. I got them because I heard good things about them in the snow, but I won't know about that for a few more months... . So far they have treated me well.

BTW, I found some online company (can't think of it now) selling them for $107 per tire, printed it and brought it to discount tire. They matched the $107 price, down from $141...

I just installed the LT255/85R16 Dunlop A/Ts. I did the same thing with Discount Tire and got them for a great deal and they do carry a 50K milage warrantty on them. So far I like them alot better than my old Big O A/Ts.

I run BFG M/T KMs in the winter.

rspinks, I am still running 245/75. they look so small

on the truck, thats why I want to go to a bigger tire.

I hope it Dons't affect acceleration to much.

RKelly, 40-45k will be OK, I don't expect to get allot of

miles on an aggressive tread pattern. It will take me

two years to put that many miles on. By then I hope

to have the truck lifted and even bigger tires, new

wheels, and of course a different gear ratio.

WKener and dawson, I will try that with my local tire

store. I found them at the tirerack.com for $107. 00

I thought about the A/T for the same reason as you

guys, but I like the tread pattern better on the RV's.

Any way thanks allot guy's.

I just bought 265/75 Rover ATs at my local Goodyear shop on sale for $95 each. I think the Goodyear stores just started carrying them. I only have 3000 miles on them and like the highway ride and dirt off road capability so far. No snow testing yet but soon. I really can't wait to see if they make it close to the 50000 mile warranty. In the last 6 years no tires on any of my trucks ever last more than 30000 miles. Sandbrew
