Well I finally was able to get a Dura-dud to give me a little friendly competition. I was on my way home from Grand Junction at the bottom of Dallas Divide, when a guy in a dura-dud was in front of me. There was three cars between us, when the passing lane got to him he floored it, I had to wait for the three cars to get out of my way then I poured on the coal. You should have seen the look on his face when I passed him. Now I didn't just blow by, I had to earn it, but I did get him... ... .

:D :D :D :D :D

The coolest thing is when you are sitting at the stop light, and they are sneering at our wimpy little cummins. A couple of clicks on the powermax and when the green light shines. :--) Well you get the picture, they arent laughing anymore. I love spanking auotmatics with my "slow" ol 6 speed.

how does our trucks do stock against the powerchoke and the dura-dud? I have a 6 speed with the simple K7N drop in, straight pipe, and the other day I found my silencer ring & the snorkel laying in my garage floor. I have just messed with one dura-dud but didn't really have enough room to play and my friend has a powerchoke with a chip and a 5" exhaust I was behind him on his bumper and when he nailed it I also did and it seemed as if I was pushing him. What is the best way to keep up the RPM's when I shift? Right now even power shifting it loses a lot bewtween gears how do I keep em up? I know how to drive a stick but this is my first diesel stick. Thanks a bunch.

Isn't this kinda like racing PIGS :D I know you can get pigs to run pretty fast but if I was into racing I would want a race horse. Like maybe a Porsche. What you need is a Porsche for racing and the CTD to look "Cool" in and do the work. The Dodge is the best looking truck and the Cummins is the best engine. IMHO

Don't get me wrong, I know it is "fun" to have a "sleeper" vehicle and catch people off guard and "bombing" will do that. I do enjoy hearing about what you can get the CTD to do.

Bigstick

It is tough to shift the 5600 fast..... 2nd to 3rd is the worst IMO, 4th, 5th, and 6th is snick, snick... . real easy.

if taking off in 2nd... . take it to 3K. . run 3rd to 2800... run 4th-6th to 2700

rubberneck with all due respect... . a 6spd is very hard to take an auto with... . unless you do a 3rd gear launch and smoke the clutch... even then you will need a bionic arm.

leave the line in third..... keep the engine at 2K while feathering the clutch to keep from bogging. Once the clutch and truck catch up to the engine and your foot is off the clutch drop the hammer to 3200 rpm. Skip shift to 5th (rpm drops to about 1500) this works best with a bombed truck (yes I know it is hard on the input shaft)... if you have a stocker grab 4th. You know the rest.

shifting without RPM loss

Bigstick,

As you know, the diesel will not over rev by itself. Just run it up to 3,000 rpms, leave the throttle on the floor, pull on the shifter and push the clutch in. When it shifts, let the clutch out! It is a lot easier than you might think.
