Durability of folding the trailer tow mirrors twice a day

The new truck is finally here and as I pull up to my house, i realized the only way i was going to get it in the garage is by folding both sides of the mirrors in.

I have those big black 'towing' mirrors that rotate 90degrees with the little fisheye thing. The mechanism that they fold in has what feels like a huge detent and a stiff spring. As this is my daily driver, i am folding the mirrors in twice a day as I come and go. I wonder how long it will take before i wear out those detent/springs doing it so often. Anyone have any thoughts? Anybody else having to do this?

The fun part about that is i get to sing my nieghbors a cummins lullabye as i idle the truck while doing a chinese firedrill every night.

I towed or camper trailer for the first time yesterday with the new truck. I love the towing mirrors. If I watch the wide angle part of the mirror while I'm going around a corner, I can see how close the trailer tires are to the curb. This is with the mirrors on the folded in position. Trailer is 7'3" wide. I have a two stall garage with a 16' door, but it's still a trick to get it in and still leave enough room for the wife's Saturn.

I have the standard mirrors and fold them twice a day as well. They seem to be just fine, been doing this routine for 18 months now.
