Ford 172ci Diesel

Bigsaint is!!!!

Folks will buy what they want to buy. Some of the Chevy guys probably bought that truck for the Alison transmision option. Ford guys because of the crew cab option. I bought my Dodge because of the Cummins. To me, the straight six, turbo-diesel is the kind of low rpm grunt and high mileage combo that I appreciate.

I'll add this: ATLEAST WE"RE ALL BUYING AMERICAN !!!

Let's support OUR economy, right here in the USA. Screw the imports!

Becarefull with that "buying American". .

While the idea is great... ...

Some of the trucks are built in Mexico, others in USA.

Some "imports" have more American $$ content than some models from the big three.

I was in a Ford dealership when I was truck shopping back in 99 and came across an very interesting poster comparing makes and models. It wasnt a poster produced by Ford (well atleast it didnt advertise it on the poster at all that they published it). . and Ford didnt come out ahead in it. So I wasnt sure why the poster was there... but it was interesting.

ALSO, the Cummins B5. 9 is made in Brazil and several European countries as well as in the USA - the MAJOR rebuilding/reconditioning facility is in Mexico...

duramax

i'm really ashamed that we've been bashing duramaxes. aren't the rest of you? i mean after all, they are the perfect engines. we all recognize that don't we? don't we?

I knew the truck was assembled in Mexico, but... .

Jeeze, all this time, i thought my Cummins was made in Missouri ... right ?

not just cummins

I've seen a lot of Cat parts that were made in japan or hecho in mexico. Probably gets made cheaper but do we see that cost savings:rolleyes: . Doug

Cat , Cummins, Detroit, you name it, they are all world wide. The same 12 and 24 valve engine and that goes in our trucks goes in Grove cranes, Ingresoll Rand rollers, Case front end loaders, and everything else. some might be made in England, France, and Brazil... . you name it.
