Duramax and winter covers

I've noticed alot of Duramaxes with winter covers on already do they run rough in the cold? They have a complete cover no air holes now I thought the intercooler needed some air and Cummins advises a minimum of 100 sq in. . Just wondering it's not like I would buy one or anything.

they come from the factory with the winter cover and gm recomends the use of them to aid in the warmup time...

never use mine... ... they make the truck run ****ty in my opinion
