I've said it before and I'll say it again. The more electronic stuff you add to an engine, the more things that can go wrong and the harder it will be to track it down when they do. I'll stick with my good ol' mechanical P7100 powered Cummins, thank you #ad

Wife's truck:
95 2500 SLT Laramie 3. 54 automatic JVC cd out of factory infinity system, southwest grill gaurd (a favorite amongst the deer population), K&N chunked, AFC adjusted, "gutless" cat, Geno's dual EGT/boost gauge, TST #6 plate slid all the way forward, AFC housing slid all the way forward, silencer ring removed

My truck:
95 2500 SLT Laramie 4x4 automatic, Geno's dual EGT/Boost gauge, Dodge cat test pipe (I'm still testing hehe), Geno's muffler eliminator pipe, AFC star wheel adjusted for smoke show, TST #6 plate slid all the way forward, AFC Housing slid all the way forward. On order, DTT valve body and torque converter, I decided to finally upgrade my poor auto transmission after over 100,000 miles of trouble free service.
 
danandme, You and I think alot alike, all the electronic controls are great when it all works but when it don't the only thing a circuit board is good for is target practice!

Couldnt agree more, even though my 2001 is functioning flawless I would have preferred a mechanical injection pump. What was the last year for a mechanical pump?

The trucks without computers at all are pretty good too. With the '89, as long as you have fuel and a battery to start, you're gone. No communication problems, foot-pedal-pump... . pretty simple!

Even the name Duramax can't save them now.

Just as a broader note here, I feel safer in my Dodge's that have 158000+ and 136000+ then in any new vehicle because like you guys have said, you can make sense of what is going on underneath your hood without the aid of a super computer. And the rest of the population laughs at my older vehicles, whatever #ad
