duramax problems

Well, i had both and i have to say, motor to motor power is about the same but the duramax will outpull the cummins because of the auto transmission. But i still like my dodge alot better because its more of a truck, rides better, got a growl from the factory, easier to work on. It does seem like the duramax engine was a little smoother and the transmission was very nice with the tow haul.

All the posts on this subject until yours seemed to be about right. The allison is not what you think they are, just try and pass at 65MPH and maybe you just might be quick enough to pass a semi on a flat run. As for the problems of these Izusu motors, just keep a good eye on your temp gage and glow plug lite and maybe you just might keep up with mine until my lane clears climbing a long grade, I will wait for you at the top in case you need coolant. BTW I used to drive an LLY 5 spd. Allison so I speak from experience. If you don't believe me than go to DPL.com and confirm it yourself.
