I used to drive armored trucks for a living, and with all of the steel plating on the sides and roof, plus the extremely heavy bullet-resistant glass, they are rather top-heavy. I imagine the Durango's hood slid under the truck's chassis and acted as a wedge.

We had one armored van that was stopped on an Interstate during a traffic jam. An approaching tractor-trailer didn't see the blockage, and rear-ended our guys truck at 50mph. The armored truck was pushed into a pickup truck in front of it, and then shot through the median, across the other lanes, and straight into a tree. Both guards survived with only minor injuries, but the imprint of the semi truck's grill was clearly stamped into the back door. The van was a Ford E-350 chassis running a Supreme armored conversion. I'm not a big Ford fan, but that particular truck was really well built, and saved their lives.
