With the demise of the Adventurer Project (Dodge's version of the Suburban), Dodge isn't going to build a SUV of this size in the foreseeable future. I refuse to take my Plymouth to the race track being pulled by a GM. My 2001 Dodge Quad cab is more than capable of doing the job in every way but one: Seating my kids (4)! I've complained and whined all I can at Dim-bulb-Chrysler to no avail. My wife's Ex-Air Force '85 Dodge Crew Cab had 136,000 on it when it was "Re-powered" to a '94 360 EFI w/ 518 trans. It now has over 50,000 more miles on it and she won't give it up. It's getting a little tired and I want to put her in something a little more reliable. She says the new trucks (2002 4dr. & Durango) are smaller, and my favorite zinger, "what if we have one more?" are too much to bear. I want to put her in a '96 ish 2500 Dodge Cummins powered 4X4 4 dr. Adventurer with the seating capacity increased accordingly. But since they don't make it; somebody has to do it for me. The trick is which is more cost effective; having it made or being seen in a problem ridden Ford pulling my Plymouth?
Here's the main quetion:
Does anyone remember who/where the vendor is who was doing the conversions to turn the trucks into full size crew cabs and "Suburban" type vehicles?
Thanks,
Jess E.
