Durango Need Help Starting

This sounds like something that could happen to any of us. My daughter got out of her 05 Durango and hit the lock button. Nothing happen. When she tried to start the car it started and died three times. Now nothing ,entry key still not working , batt ok but will not make a sound when turning the key . Jumper cables did nothing. Any ideas?

Sounds like she either tried to use a non chipped key or the chipped key went bad??? If so it's a trip (haul/tow) to the dealer. Have seen this with Chrysler product. bg

Ok!! Here is what happen. It would be nice to read more info in TDR about this sort of thing because it can happen to any car or truck. We had to tow to the shop. The shop said there was a “hick up” in the main computer. When she tried to started the car,the ant-theft system could not talk to the main computer. Something like that. The whole thing went down. They disconnected the battery and the IOD fuse (what ever that is). Then it reset itself and started. It then started. The shop said to disconnect the battery if I see this problem with my truck or any car. Let it sit 5-10 min and try to restart. Don’t know what all is happening but maybe this will help someone?

Similar to the Windows infamous Blue Screen of Death. A re-boot and all is better (hopefully).
