i bought a set of dv's from a tdr member but did not get instruction on how to install them. can someone please give me instructions on what i need to do to install them? i have the socket already. just how to install them is all i need. thanks

There easy to do, take the hat off, injection lines at the pump and the two bolts out of the intake that hold the injection lines brackes so you can move them up a tad to gain clearence, just unscrew the holders and take them out with the spring that's inside then fish the DV out with a magnet, older pump(I believe) have little tin holders under the DV's, and you will(or should) have new O-rings to go on the holders and just put it all back togther and T/Q the holders to 85ft/lbs.

do i have to have o rings or can i do this without them? what are the o rings for? can i get them at a local store or do i have to get them from bosch or cummins? thanks

If the original o rings look good then you should be fine. But inspect them carefully. They are needed and a set MUST be installed either the originals (if in very good condition) or new ones. You can get them at cummins. I wouldnt trust just any o ring. Your local pump shop will have them in bulk. Secondly, if you do not have the DV socket dont just start trying to turn them. These are a 32 point piece and DO require the socket for them. The socket itself is nothing all that special except for the fact that it is 32 point. I'm not much help on where to find just that socket as I bought it with an entire tool kit. But surely there will be a TDR member somewhat close to you that is kind enough to share.

All in all with the proper socket no other 'special' tools are needed. I do reccomend however that you go ahead and take the inj. lines clear off (including injectors side) if you are going to do this by your self. It will just make getting to things much easier. Also if you haven't looked yet you Will have to take the intake air horn off as well. So have lots of CLEAN rags and or red caps to cover things up with. And do ONE DV at a time.
