After pricing dynamat's online site it will cost me over $800 to do my truck. :{

Is there anywhere else to purchase dynamat material at a discount? :)

THANKS

I just put Dynamat Extreme over the entire back cab wall, behind my extended cab seat. I can tell no difference in rear exhaust noise, road noise, nothing. Cost, under $100 dollars. I would look elsewhere to blow money. All it looks like is a layer of adhesive with foil coating, the adhesive appears to be the sound deadening material by looking at it. If anyone has had better results please let us know.

I saw a thread by Y-Knot, I think. He did his truck, but someone else was looking a similar product sold out of JC Whitney. Do a search, it'll probably show up.

Have heard people found it cheap on ebay. I bought some from this place a while back from another member tip and it was the best price I could find anywhere. http://www.thezeb.com/c-Dynamat-5016.htm

Also you I used some brown bread from http://www.b-quiet.com/brownbread.html

The brown bread was cheaper and having used both side by side the dynomat seemed to be of higher quality but the specs are pretty close to each other

I would suggest a search here on sound deadening there are a couple of members who have gone to great lengths with good success. Those threads are full of great info.

I spoke to the guys at Car Toys about the Dynamat about 6 months ago and the only success they have had on killing the in-cab noise is by installing the Dynamat on 100% of the inside of the cab. This means completely stripping the interior of the truck of dash board, seats, carpet, door panels, headliner etc. The estimate I got to have this done was around $2500 - $3000. He said it made the F350 they did sound like the interior of a SL series Mercedes?? Yeah right. :rolleyes:

I have not used any Dynamat products.

But there is a roofing material called peel n' seal. It is similar to Dynamat extreme. It is available at Lowe's in 6" wide rolls. Try it. Many Car Audio forums mention this as a substitute for Dynamat Extreme.

Try the B-Quiet guy on ebay, it was like 120 shipped for 100sq feet of the brown bread ultimate. Awsome stuff A+ great magazine reviews... . Dynamat is just a brand name which ='s the high price

This was posted by Pilotman a while ago. Sounds like the "Peel and Seal" stuff that C. is talking about. A whole lot cheaper and appears to work as well, worth a try!

"Wanted to post this for everyone that would love to have there truck as quiet as a lexus with out having to spend $3000 big ones to have someone at a stereo shop do it half ***. I found this stuff called Jiffy Seal at Lowes Hardware for $16. 00 per 50' x 6" role that is used for sealing the edge of windows in construction. It is made of a tar compound that has adhesive on both sides. I compared it to a popular sound deadening material called HushMatt. It was very close in thickness and was just as sticky. The difference was that the Hushmatt has one side that was foil painted black and cost about 300 times as much. I had my wife while on a weekly market trip pick me up the heaviest duty role of tin foil she could find. After pealing the first piece and adhering it to the tin foil and trimming a bit I found that I had made the same exact stuff as the HushMatt for the most part. A Hell of a lot cheaper. "

I have gotten DynaMat Extreme (big box) on Ebay for as cheap as $116. 00 to my door... :cool: VS. $200. 00 (big box, custom install box) a shot at Fry's Electronics.

There is no replacement for genuine DynaMat, I have tried many of them... ;)

BTW, Get the "professional" roller that Dynamic Controls offers.

HERE is my next step...
