I received my Dynatrac ball joints today and examined and greased them. One thing I noticed was that all but one is pretty darn tight. The one upper I noticed I could plunge the stud in and out while the other upper won't. Is this something to worry about? It moves about a 1/4". The pictures are of both upper joints and the one shows how much it will extend verses the other.#ad

The upper has to move in and out. Upper and lower ball joints are not on the same axis so by design the upper has to extend and retract as the steering knuckle turns.
Probably the grease is holding that one upper one in place, it will give up once installed.

The upper ball joint is nothing more than a guide and pivot point, the lower joint takes all of the weight.

Anxious to hear your impressions once they are installed, those are on the summer short list for the '06. I've managed to put 90,000 miles on the Moogs but it's time for them to go.....

Thanks mwilson. Didn't click in my head about the different planes of movement until I read your post. I'll let you know what I think of them which I hope is the last joints I do in quite some time.

A little video from EMF, the balljoint you should be putting in your trucks.

Good video. Here's Dynatrac's video.

Carli, Dynatrac, and EMF make very good joints and they are probably close to equal in satisfied customers. Buying any of them will be a good investment.
