Their website says the freewheel hub kit is for 200-2005 trucks. Does anybody know if they will fit a new 2007 2500 4x4?

Contact Robert Marburger (rmarburger@dynatrac.com). He will likely be able to tell you. I just installed a set on my '06. I'm very happy with them and with Robert's service. The install did result in approx. 1 1/2 mpg improvement. JH

Thanks.

It will probably be a couple months before I start changing much on the new truck, but I really would like to have a solid front axle with freewheeling hubs. All these new-fangled shift on the fly mechanisms are an engineering answer to a non-problem. I mean, non freewheeling axles on a 4wd date from before WWII!

As soon as I realized my new truck had no transfer case shift lever and had a "girlie knob" on the dash to shift the transfer case, I was ready to back out. Unfortunately I didn't realize I could get leather and heated seats through after market, or I would have. I hate that knob, but it's too late now. I'm surprised there aren't more threads sounding complaints about it on here.

I don't see why you couldn't add the shifter and remove the "switch". That would be cheaper than having leather upholstry installed.

On the other hand, the leather option is called "leather trim". You probably have more leather in you boots and belt than is on these seats.

How are the inner axles shaft seals holding up? I bought this kit for my '98 about a year ago and can't get the passenger side axle seal to stop leaking fluid. wish Dynatrac would come up with some kind of seal for that application cuz it's ridiculous how much oil leaks out at times.

Basically just want to know how everything is holding up. I guess you probably wouldn't have issues wit the seals cuz of the non-CAD axle housing. Also, did you add the new inner shafts or just replace the outer stubs?

Hey! When you find out, could you let us know? My '03 has to do for now, but looking ahead to the '09 - '10 year CTD!

My mechanic put an anti-seize material around the inner surfaces where the new spindle mated up and applied a silicone barrier over the surface to keep moisture out. So far I have about 3000 miles on the new installation and no leaks. If you go to their website they show exactly what all comes in the kit. They supply the longer outer axle shafts from the u-joint out to the Warn Hub. Hopefully their machining has improved and the leaks are history.

Well, the one on my '98 is obviously a different kit since the '06s have the AAM axles. As for the leak, it just drips out of the passenger side axle housing because I went to the 1 piece axle shaft on that side and got rid of the CAD shafts. Since the CAD dana 60s don't have a seal on the passenger side of the differential housing, I am forced to use the CAD seal and when the wheels turn left to right, the inner axle moves with the steering and the seal doesn't ride against the axle anymore and gear oil leaks right past it.

My wheel hub seals are good, they are not leaking grease nor letting anything in, so it sounds like the '06 conversion is a little better design if one wants to upgrade the inner shafts to 35 spline.
