Competition I need a show of hands....

Will there be a dyno on site at Scheids?

I'd like to put my truck on the rollers and have someone that KNOWS how to dyno a diesel put down the numbers. . I hear David Dunbar is the guy to do it. . Will he be there?

The last time I dynoed, I put down 398HP. . I have a hunch that I may be a tad above that, seeing as I put down 484HP with a blown headgasket clear back in April.

Thanks in advance!

There were two didfferent dynos there last year. If David will be there, he'll be the guy to see. Was happy with my numbers at IRP. :D

Dave will have his dynojet there and Scheid will have their Mustang there. Dave would be the guy to see. Just save me a spot on the signup sheet;).

What is the difference between the two. And who is dave? Which one will show the best real every day number not something inflated to make me feel good i want the truth maybe

David Dunbar is THE MAN! when it comes to dynoing a Cummins. I've seen to many problems with "spikes" on Scheid's dyno. David will do right by you! ;) :D

You'll get arguements for each dyno. I will say, it's not official til it's run on Dave's dynojet;). Maddog had to come from all the way out west to make it official:D.

Dave gets my recommendation, he knows his stuff and won't abuse your truck getting a good read. Nothing against Scheid's or the Mustang but I have run on both and I am more confident with the Dave's Dynojet measurements.

Ran the truck did ok ran out of fuel. But put down a very flat curve. mod cp3 next bomb. 526. 4hp 1062. 6tq Hope to run into the 600 range with new cp3

Sheids was a joke. I only made 39x on theres with whats in my sig. A total waist of money. He even went on to tell me that one of their trucks was only 450hp range and ran a 12. 5 in the 1/4.

Was this on David's dyno or Scheids dyno?

The guys running Scheid's dyno told me that the wheels start slipping at 500 or so HP on the rollers, and for people running those numbers or higher they'd be better off running on Dunbars dyno.

it was on Shieds dyno.

that couldnt be because they only use a chain and binder to hold the truck from going forward. they dont really strap it down. the last place I went to with a mustang dyno had straps to hold the truck in place and to hold the wheels down if need be. it sure made for quick turnaround on the dyno though.

There were 2 GM/DMax trucks at IRP that I saw run, and they both were slipping the tires on the roller.

IIRC, last year at Schieds (and their dyno, not Dave's), no one that I watched was happy with their numbers. WaynesWorld ran his '96 on their rollers and had lower numbers than his last run, with more fuel and air.

Yes it was theres, not daves. I even tried to weigh the back end down with the home made truck nuts (pistons). :-laf

on the first run they had to restart the machine. my buddy bless his heart has never been to a diesel truck show and has only been around mine and a few others. While they were resetting the machine he goes whatcha break it for.

Now i know mines pretty good but in no way is it the biggest. Im just looking for around 550 on #2 and 650 on N2O. I think in close but when you dyno on something like that and all you get is 396 and 435 it really makes me think, wtf.

The best parts when he told me that one of the guys there was only around 450 and run a mid 12 in the 1/4.
