So, what's the going rate for a diesel on a dyno? Thinking of tossing the dog on the only local dyno this weekend... They're wanting $100 though  Just curious about how much others are paying.

I don't think they've seen many diesels from what little I've talked to 'em... Wonder if they'll bet a cheap dyno run if I put down over 400HP :D

Thanks,

--Sam

That seems a little high, if you can take it to a dyno day some where it would cost less than half that. 400 hp might not be a safe bet. IMO. 375 should be close.

chuck. :)

Don't bet... . it can easily be manipulated to where you won't produce over 400hp... . but in reality you should be floating around 425 to 450hp.

Going rate is $50 to $100 at all my dyno places I have been.

At the last Dallas Dyno run there were talking $50. 00 for 3 runs till 30 trucks showed up then it went to $40. 00... . now that's customer satisfaction.

Well, I paid $100. 00 for my dyno run (3, actually) and I didn't even get the TQ numbers :D . It was worth a heck of a lot more than that to me, just to see us soot up Mr. Ida's shop. Can't wait for the next time.

$100 was for 3...

Actually the $100 was for 3 runs... Sorry for the misunderstanding... It's just $100 to get on the dyno, but he'll give you 3 runs once there...

Thanks to all for the info, might have to see if he'll budge at all and if not, take a little drive some time... maybe to Vegas in May. hmmm... :D

Ipaid $50 for two runs the same day or $75 for the two runs plus a return anytime for two more runs. I chose the latter.

2nd Run after DDII's and EZ: 271HP +550 torque at the rear wheels; which translates, according to NHRA Standards with Auto Trans, to 338 bhp, and 658 lbs Flywheel torque. I still can't break loose the rear tires but get consistant 8. 5 sec 0-60 pmh runs.

My auto transmission is acting up at 1/8 throttle in shifts from 1st to 2nd.

Just comes with the territory I guess, even with a DTT Valve-body.

Come to May Madness (see local and regional events forum). Dyno'ing will be at "the right price" there, courtesy of Diesel Dynamics. You'll also get to meet Lawrence Bolton, who has almost certainly made more dyno runs than anyone else on the planet, and has learned more about dyno'ing than the rest of us could even ask about.

Our club house roller,"The Humbler" is a Dynojet,,They have given us a flat rate fee of $60 for three pulls with torque readings along with it,,They also are very liberal with the group and have pulled may more than 3 pulls for the same amount,,The owner is now going to have other additions to his system so we can tell if we are slipping thru the clutch or rattling a converter,,$100 is a little high in my book, but, some areas will command more depends on the owner and how much competition is around... .
