Bio Diesel Day-November 14th

Dyno Day!! Denver, CO Nov. 8

Hey all, I have been in contact with Shay over from the Colorado PSD club. I actually emailed her to see if they wanted to get in on a dyno day in the next month or two and the tables got turned, she invited us to one of their dyno days! Some of you may remember her as she set up the Dyno Day back in June @ PFI in Fort Collins. Great event and there was a nice turnout of Dodges and PSD trucks. Well heres the scoop, they have a date of November 8 starting @ 10am @ Dynopro in Denver, CO. The deal is since she setup this one that the PSD club guys do get first dibs on the Dynojet 248, but they anticipate that their will be enough time for us to run too. Cost for the pulls are $50 and you can pull 3, maybe 4 times. Personally I dont think us CTD guys need 4 pulls since we dont have to change out chips but the option is there if you want it. Here is dynopro's website : www.dynopro.com Notice they have a top HP listing, boy it would be cool to see a CTD on there :D For those that want to come PLEASE respond here in this forum or send me a PM as soon as you can committ. We are pretty fortunate to be able to take part in this event so I need to communicate often with Shay on our expected turnout. Apparently there will be 1 or 2 Duramaxs there so this could a good "mixer" event.

Again the date is:

November 8, 2003

Time: 10am- end of the day

Where: Dyno Pro

5330 Tennyson Street

Denver, CO 80212

303-455-2443

Lets have a positive turnout folks!

Thanks,

Jeff Randol

Jeff, have these guys ever done diesel trucks before. Is it going to be the same thing as PFI where there were no torque numbers for a lot of us and can they deal with the exhaust fumes. Their shop looks pretty in the pictures posted on the net. Wonder what a foot of soot would do? Anyway I will be there if I am in town. The price is kinda steep as it has been $20 the last couple events. Whats special about this that it is $50??? The little woman is gonna balk at that. Racing at Bandimere ain't close to that price and is a whole lot more fun.

Mike, be great to have you there. I am curious as to what the white beast has up its sleeve not that your running 14's!! As for DynoPro, per Shay they are equipped to get us torque readings and I think the big difference is that 1. were dynoing in Denver, costs are higher most always 2. You can have up to 4 pulls for that price whereas @ PFI is was $20 a pull. I do remember some guys doing more than 1 but I think they are going to try and stick to the rules at this one so we can filter more trucks thru. I will get ahold of Dyno Pro Tuesday when i am in town and see what the scoop is.

Jeff

I'm not in your area, but we did Just run on a Dynojet 428 here. They also charged us $50 per truck for 2 solid back to back runs. One truck in particular ran 5 times. The first time he got a good run, the second the tires spun on the rollers, the 3rd -5th 7 guys were in the bed for added traction! He did finally get another solid run at 393hp and 950torque. The 428 seems to be a good unit to run on and it gave us consistant runs all day long.

DYNO

Did somebody say dyno?:D I'll be there! Lets get a bunch of trucks together and really smoke up the place!:-laf

Right on Richard!! Shay emailed me last night. Apparently a few Dmaxes want to come too. She assured me if we could assemble a group that we could run right after the PSD guys. I am thinking about a 1' layer of soot could really do something for the asethetics of that building. :D Oo.

Jeff

I will be there. Would be fun to see. I don't have any mods so I don't really want to spend $50 that I don't have, to see how much power my truck does not have either :) But I will be there!

Nick

Do you suppose they have a Pepsi machine we can destroy like the last place??? Just a thought. The other one took a beating. :D :D :D :D

Jeff, it was 410 or so last time out, but I do not think I get good numbers. Running 14. 2 at 100 mph in the 1/4 mile with a 6600 lb. truck calulates to more than 410 hp. We will have to see. Lookin at traction bars and a set of tires for next year and I'll run in the 13's.

From the Dyno-Pro website "If your ride doesn't have its own list, then there have been less than ten cars in that class dyno'd so far. Contact us to find out how many cars in that class are still needed to get its own list in the MHHR. "

Maybe we can get them to establish a class for Diesel pickups?

Surely we will have more than 10 trucks show up? Come on guys who else is going to help crush the Ford's (again):-laf

Laser Bob I'm sure you got a few tricks up your sleeve.

Well I don't have any performance mods yet and its only a 92 but I'll be there and I'll try to drag MSchoenheider with me. I doubt it will be too hard. He's been working on it and will have an upgraded turbo by then, so I'm sure he'll be curious to see what it can do.

Great!! It should be a good time! I am looking forward to trying my new bombs on the Dyno too!! 500 hp might be a stretch, but at least I'll know what it takes to get there!

Jeff

I should be able to go. I'll be coming back from hunting so I and the truck might be a little bloody and stinky. :D

BTW,we will be getting torque and hp curves vs. rpm. Not hp curves vs mph with max torque numbers (not graphed)?

I think this is a must have. How many 12vers are showing up that were at the last Dyno Day (looking for the big hp members. Like Mr. R. ebel - 97 12 valve 546 HP and 1135 ft-lbs. ) I being a 24 valve pilot, sure would like to see a 12ver run.

I know Mike, the CFO has been pretty cool lately!! :D :D I love that woman!

As for the dyno day I think mgoncalves is going to ride down with me but not run. Seems like I remember hearing a few more Fort Collins folk planning on coming too. Yep, lets keep this thread alive!
