Thought I would post here and save someone some grief and money. Called the Cummins shop and asked if they would run my Dodge on the dyno. "Sure, we do them all the time". They put it on the dyno and start running it with a chain around my trailer hitch ball. They could only get 200 HP out of it after about 30 minutes running. Now understand this, I don't know a lot about dynos, but I knew something was wrong as they wern't even pulling the engine down or making any smoke. They finally shut it down and I remember some talk here about which gear to run in so I ask them to do it in fifth. They hesitated, but did and got 250 on the moniter screen. They were having trouble with egts , I didn't want them to go over 1300. Really hard for me to explain , but with their new dyno, it would run for several minutes before they would put the load on it, then they would accelerate, tires slipping, and the pyro would climb fast to 1300. Never could pull the engine down. These were two young fellows and I really don't think they new what they were doing, except having fun with my truck running for over an hour. The printout shows 200 HP because their computer only comes in at certain points to check the HP and the 250 wasn't one of those points. No torque readings. All this for $126. Some bragging rights. I'm going to a hot rod shop next that has a Dynojet and charges $75.

It sounds like the guys didn't know what they were doing. A dyno is only as good as the guy operating.

I had the same setup as you, except for a #5 plate. It ran 379 HP.

379

-40 hp difference in plate

-30 hp for larger turbo

+ 8 hp for 370's

You should have a solid 300+ HP at the rear wheels
