I finally put old red up on the rollers in St Louis yesterday. It was a Dyno Jet, and I ran in OD on all three pulls. I watched the boost gauge and it did achieve full boost during the run. The printout showed a 234 hp and 586 ft lbs of torque. All three runs were very consistent. Chris taped the run for me and I did notice that I have haze out of the exhaust even at full boost. So I have fuel.
I was however disappointed, Bill, Daniel and Chris were due to dyno after me and the dyno broke between me and them.
I was wondering how I was going to meet anybody, nobody had name tags, and I really did not know what anybody looked like. I was just standing there and this guy walks up to me and asks "Are you Michael Miller?" Oh no I think, I don't know this person but he knows me!!
Turns out Chris saw my name on the sign in sheet and asked the young lady to point me out. I probably would have been there all day and not talked to him if he hadn't found me. I had an idea I could pick out Daniel, and I did, it helped that him and his significant other was getting out of his dodge at the time. After I pulled off the Dyno and parked the truck I saw Bills grey dodge, and he had found Chris. I think he may have gotten to see me dyno.
I had a good time. The 456 mile round trip was worth it to meet some fellow TDR first gen members. I was not disappointed. The friendship, comradere, and fun loving nature that is well known in our group shown well. It was like everyone was life long friends meeting in a garage. I look forward to the wrench day in October.
I was very pleased with my run, don't think I will do much more then exhaust/intake work. The truck works fine for me. Just want the pyro down a little at current hp/tq level. The 90 on the other hand, that ones gonna get some playing done to it.
Sorry for the long post, just had to share my first dyno, diesel truck, TDR, first gen gathering.
If I screwed up anyones names I am sincerely sorry, I have terrible time with names. Thanks for taping my run Chris, thanks for the spare belt Bill. It was nice to visit with you guys, and Daniel, you took the swamp jokes very well. Hope to see you all again soon.
