Off Roading Wheels?

Off Roading 2wd coil spacers

How would you guys feel about 1 hour (4 trucks) say 1:00 - 2:00 be set aside for the "Power Trucks"? If the spots aren't claimed by noon, they are opened up for others to take.

Many times at the "big" events, we have some high profile trucks that can't get on the dyno because they don't get to the dyno in time to make the list. These trucks are fun to watch, and I think most would like to see them, if the guys would dyno. But I would like to hear comments from others on the idea.

Thanks,

It does create at least one problem I can think of. Purse. Do we let the 4 compete for the High HP prizes when they are offered? If they get "special" treatment for signing up, how would that make the others feel? I don't think the money is the issue with these guys, but just want to keep it fair.

The idea was so that the many that hang out and watch would get really entertained. Watching 600-800hp is impressive. It would also create a time frame the spectators would know the big boys would compete.

And of course Doug, guys like you are who I am thinking about. :D

David,

I agree that the $$ is not the important thing to most guys in this arena. I would say let those guys roll at the allotted time but let the money go to whomever wins it. Whether it is one of the scheduled guys or a walkup that nobody expected.

I still consider 600 a big #, especially if it's diesel only.

Sun Coast we had 3 trucks make 600 or better with 2 of them over 700.

TS we had 5, with 2 of those over 700.

and at IRP we had 7 over 600 with only one of those cresting 700hp.

The things people should think about when we are at events like these. Air quality changes and as it gets worse, so do the HP numbers. When someone has a best of 800hp, it could be at near perfect conditions not able to be repeated in 98 degree air like we had in Indy. Every one of the leaders at IRP that nailed 600hp or better on diesel only in that wicked nasty air in my book has their act together. Even SAE doesn't work well because the high humidity plays havoc on turbo response. Since I have never seen 800hp at an event, I still think 600 is impressive. Maybe I am easily impressed? :-laf

David is correct in saying 600 is high..... Lots of guys think they have 600, 700, or even 800 HP but once they get on a dyno they find out otherwise. Do a search on the threads where guys complain the dyno #'s were low. Most people think they have a lot more HP than they really are putting down! That is why we call they dyno "The Humbler".

They get fooled by the torque they 'feel'.
