A couple of maintenance questions

Went to the local, the only, speed shop with a dyno. It was thier first diesel, and it showed as the guy went to pop the hood looking for the #1 plug wire. They said without some kind of RPM reference, they could not provide torque #'s. My questions:



1. How are you guys hooking up that allows for torque?



2. Given my sig, is 300hp where I should be?



3. Last one, with 300hp how does 16. 6ET sound?

I've only seen a dyno used once on a diesel pickup, and the dyno operator had a sort of optical sensor mounted on a stand. Before each truck was run, the damper on the front of the engine was cleaned with solvent and the sensor was placed so it could read the timing marks. Sometimes a few adjustments to the sensor's location were needed to get a good reading.
