I kind of look at the HP ratings with a grain of salt. The best way is to actually see a dyno print out. The highest peak HP is not always the best nor fastest. You generally want your power to come on as soon as possbile in the rpm range, then stay there throughout your driveable range. I can attest to the amount of umff produced by the PE Comp box, and if it doesnt hit the hp ratings that is says it can, who cares. It makes the truck a lot nicer to drive all around. I think that is what is key. Having the highest HP truck at the dyno, doesnt mean you have the "fastest" truck. HP is just a derivative of weight, time, & distance anyways.
You will not be disappointed by the amount of power you will get from any of those boxes or injectors. I mean, what other vehicle can you buy and double the hp output with a simple minor addt-ons. Gasers take major amounts of engine work to even get around to where these cummins can go. Then of course they can never match the torque no matter what they do, just the nature of a higher reving engine.
All that to say, just research what people are using & how much they like them, pros & cons. That is what I did. I didnt know much about the cummins & what it could do, until I found this site & all the culmitive wealth of knowledge that transpires here. I can't believe I drove a year and half on my 99 completely stock!
Most of these manufactures will let u return their products if you are not satisfied with their performance.
Have fun & let the bombing begin!! Just don't wait to long like i did! I can just kick myself
