I had a chance to put my 04. 5 on a Dyno a few weeks ago. Our chapter, the So. Cal Rattlin Rams had a Dyno Day at AFe Intake Systems in Corona Ca. It was a great event, and I had the opportunity to dyno the new truck. It only had about 2200 miles on the clock, and is still stock.

The three runs all came in very close on the Mustang Dynamometer, and the guys at AFe were great, and very professional. The RWHP on the truck came in at 245 HP, and 480# of torque. For a new, tight motor, I was pleased. The really interesting part was that the torque curve came on at about 1500 RPM, and remained fairly flat thru to about 2700 RPM. This is why the towing ability of this rig has been so impressive, right off of the dealer's lot.

It will only get better as the Cummins breaks in, and parts start to seat. I am contemplating a VA box down the road, but for now the stock Cummins is a monster... ... ... Sarge :D

next time on the dyno put the ac on full blast and check it again. according to cummins, the torque management soft ware wont give you full torque unless ac is on. We have a dyno at my shop just haven't put a 04. 5 on it yet. I'll do it soon and see if theres a difference.

No torque numbers, BD didn't hook up the sensor for torque.

There were three basically stock 04's. All with 48RE's, and one 600.

George's 600 pulled 249. 8 HP, totally stock.

Mr. Cob's (555) pulled 243. 2 HP with a DDP 4" exhaust system.

And the Ghost Rider (555) pulled 250. 7, with a AirAid intake and a 51" Nelson muffler.

03 HO Results on same day

With 15,000 miles and bone stock my truck was at 260hp and 510 ft/lbs on the same mustang dyno. The word out there is a 15% to 20% drop on the numbers measured at the rear wheels as compared to the numbers measured from the flywheel.
