This past week I got my Bosch 275 injectors and TST PowerMax 3 adjustable computer for my 99’ 3500 5 speed 4X4. I was at Kauffman Motorsports on 2/16 with MD-TDR and ran my truck on the dyno to obtain baseline numbers in the stock configuration. I returned to Kauffman today to update those numbers now that I have installed the power enhancing goodies.

Here are the results:

-------------------- HP -- Torque

Box stock ---------- 189. 1 -- 379. 9

275 inj, PM3 level 0 - 221. 3 -- 443. 7

275 inj, PM3 level 1 - 244. 9 -- 488. 5

275 inj, PM3 level 4 - 296. 1 -- 637. 7

275 inj, PM3 level 6 - 318. 4 -- 720. 8

275 inj, PM3 level 9 - 331. 0 -- 781. 7

Am I happy? You bet I am! – This thing moves!

I am very happy for you. It is nice when you spend some bucks and can be happy too!.

Curious though. I ran my stock 01' 5sp w 3. 55 and got 217 HP and 434 ft lbs. I wonder if it is the mileage on your truck vs mine (14K) or the type of dyno or the ambient air temperature and humidity.

Any thoughts?

Glad to see you a happy owner,,Kinda thought when you rolled the "Humbler" stock you were also,,Great numbers and sounds like you'll be the next M-D TDR member in the clutch-is-a-hurtin club,,Keep up the good work... ... .

ICEMAN: My PM3 is just the plain version, not comp. So far the clutch is holding. Only went to level 9 for the dyno run. I usually leave it on 1 or 4, depending on my mood (or what’s aside of me).

Akoperdak: I believe the difference in our baseline numbers is mostly due to different dyno, location, temperature, altitude, humidity etc, and least to do with the miles on the truck. Thats the reason I drove 2 hours to get back on the same dyno to do my follow-up runs.

Hammer: Clutch is in the future I’m sure, maybe it will last until I can get an 03.

By the way, the folks at Kauffman Motorsports are GREAT people. Thanks Ernie!

drtrox, Those #s sound about where I want to be. I've got 284/584 w/ EZ and BD1s. Ernie and crew are a great bunch.

Hey Don, What's the difference beteween the PM3 and the TST Comp?

BTW Got the rear 1/2 of the 4" exhaust in today. Sounds sweet.

I have the comp version of the pmax, and i believe the difference is in how soon the fueling comes on. I believe with the comp it comes on at a lower boost level, and then it is more aggressive between settings. I want to say that i heard that level 6 on the comp is like level 9 on the pmax 3. Im sure someone will chime in here and correct me.

Tmacc: My understanding of the PM3 vs the comp is the same as what rubberneck posted. If you read piersdiesel sight info, it says a waiver is required for the purchase of the PM Competition Version.

Thanks for the replys. The PM3 will probably be fine for me. Have to get the TC installed first though.

rubberneck, In reference to your Lucas "Prince of Darkness" injectors in your dad's truck, you must have experience w/ british bikes or cars. :D Lucas being the supplier of electrics for them both. I use to wrench on brit bikes in the early '70s and we use to refer to Lucas as the "Inventor of Darkness" due to the propesity of Lucas electrics to fail when you needed then most.

MY NUMBERS

I dynoed in January. Just wondering why I got the numbers I got with the PM3 level 9, and stock injectors and basically the same truck.

My best run was 324/797.

At the time I had no other mods. I dynoed on a dynojet. :p

777---I wouldn't worry about the diff of 7 hp--there's a bunch of variables to be considered--altitude, temp, dyno, dyno operator and so on-----your torque # is 15lbs higher also--you're right there-----chris
