fueling?timing?box?

Finally got to dyno on Friday. First run was with UFM on 5x5 DD3's and the Dodgezilla with 14 housing. Second Run was the same except with Snow Performance Stage 2 water/meth system. 50/50 mix. Gained about 30 hp and 31 tq with the system on. Not bad considering im out of air already :{

Things I learned: I need lots more air!! (twins are built, need a few items and they are ready to go) smoke was heavy and didnt clear up. Got cloudy in the shop quick!! The shop didnt have an exhaust sucker. All the bay doors were open and the exhaust sucker from the engine dyno in a separate room were on, though not doin a whole lot. Best part was there were cars in the shop that had alarms, at WOT the headlights started flashing and alarms chirped :D

Also judgin by the graph I need a drag update to the ole UFM somethin terrible. Water/meth kept egts around 1200-1250, without it slowly creeps up. 16 or 18. 5 housing would prolly help, may try it if I get a chance.

First run w/o water/meth

Second run with water/meth

Good numbers! I am running just about the same set-up in an HO, with the exception of the water and the turbo. I am going to dyno later this month, and I hope to see close to 400.

jtisdale: I know of one with the setup you describe go 408/870 but had a 16 housing, another was 390ish, but later replaced the VP, about a week later :eek: Good luck, be sure to post results.

Jim, GREAT numbers at MM :cool: whyd you have to go and make mine look so whimpy :D Ill be lookin forward to your reply. Thanks as always.

I did 389 on a BD Mustang (w/stock 35). I figured it would be close.

Now, I have upgraded to the Dodgezilla w/14cm. I put the stock boost elbow in, so I could work my way up the boost ladder. I am running DDIII's and a drag UFM. With the box off I see 25psi max. With the box on 3x3, I see 30psi max. With the box on "kill" I see 33psi max. I plan on trying the elbow that came with the UFM next to get a little more psi. I want to keep max psi while under max fuel about 38-40psi. Does that sound about right?

Also, since putting this turbo on, would a 15-25 gain in hp seem reasonable?

Thanks, Jim

Jim,

I think they recommend no more than 42psi to retain reliability. After a bit of playing I now have my gate set to open at 41 with the water/meth on. Im sure the extra boost would help a bit, and youd still be well within its limits. I know MANY people pushing past 42 without problems, most around 45psi or so. After putting the DZ on I could feel a difference, especially in the top end. Wish I could have dynoed before and after the turbo was on to see what my gain was for sure.

Making that kind of power and cramming so much exhaust volume out a small outlet has to send drive pressures through the stratosphere :eek:
