When I dynoed the other day I was a little upset with my hp. My torque seemed about right. I was on a mustang dyno and kept it locked in third. The best hp I got was a little over 350 and torque of 805 most torque readings were in the high 700's. I reached my max torque around 2000 rpms and it dropped off all the way to 2800rpms. It never dropped below 620. My hp pretty much stayed at 320 the whole time. Does this sound about right with my set up? It looks like it is on the low side. Since I dynoed I have put on a new lift pump where I am getting 22psi at idle and it goes down to 15 at wot. Mine was on its way out so I'm wondering it that could have affected the hp numbers. Although my fuel pressure was fine the whole time I was on the dyno, at least the times I was watching it :-laf .

What do I need to get to 500hp? I was thinking mach 4's and super 62 turbo.

Can you post the graphs? 350 sounds about right for your setup. What were your EGT's on the banks gauges, the reason I ask is if they were ~1300F your ottomind might have been EGT defueling. I put my probe post turbo to prevent that.

Sorry I need to change my sig. I don't have the ottomind anymore or the gauges. Just the edge juice with attitude. The 350 hp was just on one run it looked like a spike, most were in the 320's a couple were higher. I had the edge set so it had no limits. When I did a run in overdrive I spiked my egts to 1700 and my numbers were low. The guy told me that on a mustang dyno you do it in 1to1 which would be third. On most of the runs I tried to hit 3000rpms my egts would spike and then actually start to drop towards the end. In third I could only get it up to 1550 then towards the end of the pull it would drop to 1100. Does this sound right? If I can figure out my printer I can post them.

347/762 on my old towing setup (see signature) on a Dynojet in 6th gear. In 5th, it only made 325/650, but on an inertial dyno, running in the higher gear helps load the engine and spool the turbo. The Mustang should have been able to load your engine - your numbers do sound a little bit low with the Juice and 1. 6's compared to my EZ and DD2s.

Correction factors don't really work that well on turbocharged engines - they were designed for naturally aspirated engines that lose more power with altitude and temperature. Do you know what your uncorrected numbers were?

Rusty

nope. But I ran a quarter mile pass with a 2. 5 second 60 foot at 16 seconds. On that run I hit 475hp and 1320tq uncorrected

I ran a 15. 8 with my truck and I dynoed 393HP. Don't forget I'm a slow 6 speed :D

The strange thing about running the quarter mile on the dyno was that towards the end of the run it bogged the motor. I could not get the rpms that I usually get on the street and my mphs were down. It just didn't feel right, the mustang dyno must really load up.
