Competition dyno testing

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff
Well Jason was just up here testing a few things out & dyno'd 684hp Diesel only.

We then hung a set of twins on my old 94 truck, with a single HX40 it did 360hp @ 1300, 510 pyro buried, with the

HX50 it did 330hp @ 1300, 564hp pyro buried [dang thing only goes to 1800] with the NW/PDR twins [HX40/16 & HT3B/26 ] it ran 440hp @ 1250, 694hp, 1450 ft. lbs. tq in the buried mode.

I don't know why I didn't go to twins years ago, 440hp @ 55lbs boost and the pyro doesn't even hit 1300 on the street. All runs were made with stock 370 injectors, now to try the new 370's that Lawrence, of Diesel Dynamics fame, built for meOo. I'll let you all know as soon as we get them tested:D

now to try the new 370's that Lawrence, of Diesel Dynamics fame, built for me Or those sick pigs that I tried!

Good data Piers, Looking forward to meeting everyone at the dyno event and letting you slap me around on the dyno, Good to see you on the board.

I really want to come but the 25th is my 20th anniversary and heading up your way that day might make it my last one. I'll be up some time this fall but as for now I don't know when...

Jasons twins really cleaned up the smoke too! It now takes a full 15 seconds to fill the shop to the point of no daylight instead of 8 seconds:D :D Very impressive numbers though. My wife asked me why I was wearing mascara when I got home, luckily I had on black pants to hide all the soot I was wearing!

Garry.

Great ##'s there Lil Buddy !!!

don't know yet if I'll be there, but going to try. . maybe I can convince some one to drive on up with me [from over on the coast :) ]

we ended up with a Dyno Dynamics dyno. it is a load dyno [we wanted a load dyno for testing purposes] so far no wheel slippage problems at near the 700hp level.

Gary it'll be great if you and the coastal lad can make it up:)

Need To Ask Gary's Mom

If me be the "Coastal Lad" then I just might have to file a flight plan with Gary's wife for clearance on that Sept. date. It will be close to the Edge event in SLC but we'll just have to do some sleep deprivation training to get ready :D Maybe we can get "The Scourge Of The North" to slide down to rocky mtn raceway for some diesel horsepower play :)

I want to be on record as congratulating Mr. SOTN for reaching dyno numbers on a par with us twin dozen valvers:p Twin turbos are very  You'll never go back to a minimum turbo config, yucko:(

Twin turbos, twin dozen valves, I see a pattern developing. Maybe twin VP44's for the next experimentOo.

Oh No!!! or ho on??

Flash... Flash... Flash, HeberRam just dynoed 745HP with a single Piers Hx-50 hybrid on diesel fuel only. It was a great day for the crowds, and I couldn't believe it either? Then it occurred to me, I was looking at the numbers through my rear view mirror! With the "correction factor", looking at the screen straight on it read 547HP.  Oh well, I still got the drugs... :D :D :p :p

Congrats to you guys for the fine runs. I'm still not venturing into the dark side yet.

Steve

Dark Side

Piers, do you know what he means when he refers to the dark side?

You BIG sissy Heber, put some twins on that danged goat and have some fun:D Do you want to huff chargers??? Then come with me young man and take the red pill and your troubles will be over (Matrix reference). I must tell you that there is no returning to the land of "Mono". :-laf :-laf

Sweet numbers!

PDR comes through again with another killer product. Quick!... . make something crappy so I have something to complain about! :-laf

Twin Question

Piers,

I'd be interested to know how your truck drives with the twins installed while in valet mode? Also what are the dyno numbers while in valet mode? Inquiring minds need to know:cool:

Richard

My two cents...

I took a little ride with Piers right after the twins were finished, and :--) !!!!!!

A third gear start sent the truck sideways and winding like a snake down the road at an unbelievable acceleration!! My oh my... :p I can't site his temp numbers, but they were low...

That truck is a wild little ride!Oo.

(and that man can drive!!! )

Peter, I finally got the time to install your new double disc setup with the 1 3/8" input shaft, it's working great, smooth engagement, quite & seems to able to hold 700hp just fine... ... we'll have to see how it does in the future, i have an idea or two for a bit more hp :D
