Whats the "preferred" way to dyno an auto? Buddy here got some decent numbers, but I've been under the impression the runs should be done in high gear locked up. . not allowing the thing to upshift, downshift or whatever it is those autos do. Seems the numbers were high when the thing would make a shift... I think it would downshift or unlock at a certain point thus making the numbers. Seasoned dyno veterans, chime in! :-laf

depending on rear gear, either dyno it in 3rd or 4th with the converter locked up with a switch. When I had 4. 10's in ran it in 4th (OD) converter locked and it showed more power than in 3rd locked up. Now I have 3. 55's but haven't dynoed it yet so I don't know which gear would be best.
