I just completed installation of a Dynolock Electric Tailgate Lock ($69. 99).

Quality 3 out of 10: My first impression is that this product is about $10 in materials. I wasn't impressed with the quality.

Installation 3 out of 10: The plate does not align itself well and required a great deal of bending and tweeking to get it in the correct spot. The wire harness was too short and I ended up splicing in to reach the recommended area by the emergency brake. I connected to the wires they stated in their instructions, but one did not work. I called and they said those would be the correct wires, but only one of them was. I ended up running the wires to the rear door harness and splicing them in there. I like this better anyway, because the tailgate will not unlock when I unlock the passenger door. I have to double click the remote to get it to unlock.

Customer Service 6 out of 10: The guy was certainly friendly, but told me exactly what the instructions did. They don't seem to have good information on which wires do what.

Security 7 out of 10: It does its job, however the locking mechanism moves a great deal when force is applied. I feel if someone really yanked hard, they would bend the plate and open the locks.

I do not recommend this company for an electric tailgate lock. I have seen much better ones for the same price or less money.
