E-Brake w/auto trans

I know I've seen this topic before, and I tried a search 5 different ways and came up with nothing #ad
. Was wondering how involved it is to put a brake on with an auto trans. Any success stories and what direction to proceed in would be appreciated.

If you just got your truck, you might want to consider the warranty. If I am not mistaken, putting on a E-brake on an automatic will void the warranty. I know it can be done with work to the transmission so it will lock up the converter. When I ordered mine, the first question that was asked by the Cummins was if I had an automatic or not. When I asked why, the answer was that Dodge would void the warranty for an E-brake on an automatic. I've got a 6 speed so it was not a problems. Just food for thought.

You will need to install some sort of device to keep the TCC locked when decelerateing. There are various ways in doing this. I have a 94 model(pre-electronic)that I have had a BD exaust brake installed for over 130,000 miles, whith excellant results! Wouldn't want one without an exhaust brake.
