E.G.T. Guage Question

Hi to everyone,this is my first post. I recently installed a Dipricol E. G. T. guage and noticed out of the box it read 75 degrees in my house. After i hooked it up and been useing it now cold it reads 125 degrease . Idles@ 400 and seems to work good but i think it is on the wack because it dont start off @ zero. Genos tech said it is acurate from the range it operates in. What do you think, any one else have this?Thanks in advance.

Its reading high,the egt's at idle (a/c,and defrost off),should be 260-300 degrees,400 is to high,i dont believe it. Get another one.

I have Di Pricol gauges and mine did not zero when I unpacked it.

figured it was reading ambient temp. In use it reads 250-300, defrost off. Will not go below about 350 with defrost on.

I too have a DiPricol EGT guage. It has never read below the outside temp. Even a little higher after sitting all night to cool off. when I am at idle it reads 275 to 300. That is in park with no A/C or heat. In drive it sits right at 400..... That is sitting still holding break. If your guage reads 400 degrees siting in park send it back. The other things you mentioned are normal..... Welcome to TDR
