Hey,I got Toyo Open Country A/T's from Direct Tire. They are 285/70/17's(33"tall) for 243. 90 each. Max load 3750lbs. @80psi. Part #301480 and they'll fit a 7. 5-9. 0 inch wheel. Mine are on stock 17X8s.

Nitto TG's 285/70/17's on stock rims... . E rated (they also make D rated so order the correct ones)... . excellent for my needs... have also heard good things about the toyo's mentioned, but they were hard to get when i was purchasing... .

I've got the identical tire on mine. The site states that they are 32. 7" tall though. With my GPS,I'm only registering a 2% difference over stock 265's. Very quiet,good handling tire. Les Schwab has a monopoly on the west coast. Dave Smith Motors swapped them out for me via L. S. in Idaho.

I have the Toyo open country ATs, 285/70/17 load range E on my truck. I got them from www.tiredeals4less.com, I paid $159 each for them, they are now $163, the Toyo part number for the tire is 301480.

I used Innovative balancing beads in mine, 8oz each no weights, easy open bags, I put them in as they mounted them. They run super smooth. http://www.innovativebalancing.com/

So far they have been great, the difference in wet traction over the stock BFGs in night and day, they seem pretty good in the snow as well, though we have not had a toom uch yet this year.

i looked at the procomp you mention. 305/65/17 E rated 3195@65



there are lots of D rated tires with the exact same load@psi (3195@65)



be assured i'm not bashing..... and am no tire expert... just curious what the difference is. i like the look of the procomp but couldn't find any answers. the sales folks at vendors as well as procomp described tire construction similar to the others as well.



finally just ordered toyos..... haven't got em yet though so can't offer any info on them except the load@psi rating is more like what other E rated tires offer.



just to ensure i'm not bashing here..... i ran D rated w/ the same (3195@65) for years on my 99 with ZERO problems.

I had the stock BFG's and then went to the D rated Toyos. I will not buy another set of the D rated Toyo's. They are nowhere near as stable as the BFG's were. I would definetly buy the E rated ones.

Any problems with rubbing or fender damage 4wheelpartswholesaler in sacramento said 295s & 305s on stock wheels would rub & hit the fenders. Think they want to sell me a lift kit & tires. any feed back would be appreciated i also see 35x12. 50s on trucks with leveling kits & stock wheels wonder if these have rubbing problems

The Procomps were roughly $220 a tire mounted & balanced. I was impatient and did NOT wait for the buy 3 get one free. They do fit without a lift and they do not rub. They aren't much taller than the stock tires, just wider.



Regarding the load rating, I asked the same question of BFG on their 800 number. I was looking at BFG A/T's originally and they were D compared to my stock BFG Rugged Trail's E rating. But the weight rating on either (in pounds) was comparable. They would not give me a straight answer on why different letter but similar or exact LBS ratings, and they would not discuss any tire with me (such as the AT) that did not come on the truck stock. So, they lost my business. Procomp was one of the few E-load range, so I went that way.

Toyo now offers a 285-75-17 AT which is 33. 8" tall and is "E" rated. Wish these were available when I got my "70" series.

i'm with you on this one dave... ... . durn. i'm actually thinking of selling the M/Ts now to get this new size A/T here. what's the load@psi rating on them... . they aren't listed on toyo's sites yet.

Yeah, these are what I want now too! The seem like the perfect combo of 285/70 and 315/70, and you can actually get them in E rating. Oo. If someone has the load rating info, please do tell.
