True, but there's more to it than load rating in pounds.
An E-rated tire is tougher, stronger, and much more resistant to Death Wobble.
The Toyo M/T is E-rated to over 3800lbs in the 315 size! The 285 size Toyo M55 is E-rated to over 3700 pounds.
That kind of margin of safety greatly enhances tire safety, stability, and durability.
If Kent Kroeker can run the whole Baja 1000 without a single flat, I think that says something not only for the Toyo M/Ts, but for having surplus load capacity.
