Has anyone had much experience with this plug and tube?

Is it really as easy as it says?

Do the spring and seal in the plug wear out and have to be replaced? If so how often.

Kind of a spendy investment and just wanted to know if it is worth it.

Thanks,

They work great in areas where the oil drains down on other parts... we used them all the time when I serviced mixer trucks, and a lot of farm equip uses them too. We didn't have to replace too many after initial install. They are def more user friendly as far as not needing tools, and not getting a sleeve full of oil every time you pull the plug.

So If you don't mind getting a little oily, I wouldn't say it is worth the money... but they are much cleaner and easier.

Best of luck!

Love mine!

We had them on our Kenworths at the last place I worked-really helped keep the mess to a minimum as the under-axle skid plate was right in the way of the oil drain. And so far the one I've installed on my truck works flawlessly-you could drain the pan with white gloves on!

They work great, I use them on both of my trucks, and my brother uses it on his. You have a problem with it, they will replace it. Hassle free, and clean too.

I had one on my truck for a couple of years. Recently I changed to Amsoil 15-40 synthetic and did an engine flush just prior to the oil change. Several hours later, after all the oil had drained from the tube, I removed the plug and was surprised at all the additional oil that came out. About a half quart! Looking closely at the plug, I saw that it sticks up into the pan about 1/2 inch and the part that seals the oil is at the top. This prevents you from drilling a couple of drain holes near the bottom as some have done with the petcock type of drain plug that Geno's sells. I decided to put the original plug back for now since I don't like leaving that much dirty oil in the engine. The plug worked well, never leaked and was very clean when changing oil. I have no complaints about it other than incomplete draining.

The one advantage I like about it is that is where I get my oil samples from. Just drain a little out for getting any dirt out of the tube, stick the tube into the bottle, drain some and stop. No oil on me. As for as the oil it leaves in the pan, I don't change oil with Dual By- Pass filter from Amsoil, so that issue dosen't effect me. It does work well though.

I have been using the easy change drain plug and tube for a couple of years. What I really like about this system is the tube. It seems whenever I drain the oil, there is always some wind blowing and as the oil finished draining the thin stream would blow away from the pan onto the driveway. (I guess living near the ocean has its problems. ) With the tube attached, it will stay in my 3' diameter pan. :)
