Does anybody know anything about the "Super Finish" 114 wheels that EA sells. I just took off my chrome plated wheels for the winter, and the chrome is just starting to pit on the face of the wheel, and peel on the back. Next time I buy wheels I might go back to a polished aluminium wheel.

Big P. .

I run the Eagle Alloys with "Super Finish" and love them. The words "Super Finish" means that they are polished from the factory instead of a machine finish. They are easier to maintain and retain their shine longer. If you look through my readers rig area at the new photos you will see my truck with the EA Series 137's that I have. I also got the stainless steel center caps which help the package look alot nicer. Hope this helps... ... Andy

Eagle has a 1 year warranty on their chroming, if the wheels are pitting where the spoke meets the lip, that is a common problem. Take them back and get new ones.

On the "Super Finish", they use special tip to cut the surface of the wheel, this closes the pores on the metal and produces a "semi-shine" finish. They are easy to keep up, but you must keep chemicals (wheel cleaner at the carwash, road salt, harsh solvents, etc. ) off of them or they will stain. Just soap and water.

You should not have problems with your chrome wheels if you clean them every so often.

Thanks guys!

You're right TriSum, but I don't clean my chrome wheels any less than the factory aluminium wheels that were on my 02, and they held up fine. I would have been out of luck with the chrome warrenty anyways because my current wheels aren't EA. :-laf

i will never buy them again... . less then 1 year old and they are all pitted... called them up and they said Nope... your on your own... i said WTF... . they said send them out and have them polished ... i said i just got them less then a year ago... he said your brake dust ate at them and i should clean them more often... . i said LOL you have not even seen them and your saying that... . he said have a nice day and hung up the phone.

this truck got hand washed at least once or twice a week... . truck is spotless

so $2000 for nice wheels and tires and the wheels are junk... . they will never get my $$$ again

just my $0. 02

see readers rig for pic's

Scott, which wheels did you have? Chrome or Super Finish?

super finish..... i am not saying they are all like that but mine are a piece of junk

and i got no customer service out of them... . thats just wrong in my book.

Thanks man, I wonder why the factory aluminium seems to last?

i think they are cleared... . the super finish are not so IMO you have to be on top of them all the time... The A hole on the phone told me i need to polish them all the time... . i would have though they would have been a lot better wheel

but don't just go by my bad experience... other guys have had good luck with them... i just didn't want you to be up-happy with them after you have spent the money... . like me.

Ooops!! I thought you menat that you had AE wheels now and were looking into a different finish.

AE Wheels customer service does suck ! I worked for them and I feel it is one of the worst companies I have seen.

Anyway... ... . If I can answer any questions for you let me know.

Its hard to see what your chatting about Graphic Man on your wheel problems. The readers rig shots do not show the damage you say is there very good. Can you post a picture of just the wheel so we all can see what your talking about?.

I do know that being from up where you are they use a much harsher chemical to treat winter road surfaces than us down here in the states have. If I lived where you do I probably would have either had them clear coated, used ZoopSeal or teflon coated them. Canadian road salts are the worst due to the cold conditions you have and I am certain that since they are not protected with any coating from the factory you were doomed from the start.

I see they are 137's so if you remove them let me know as I would entertain the thought of a extra set... ... Andy

I had Eagle 101s in the Super Finish. As posted above, you do need to clean them (and remove brake dust) pretty frequently. I found that I had some blemishes on my wheels after washing them when it had been an extended period since the last wash. I used some Mothers aluminum polish and it cleaned up for the most part.

That is so true the canadian roads here are a killer for any kind of aftermarket wheels.

I have posted pictures of my American Racing Pythons, the chrome has turned bronze on them and the chemicals they use on the roads has etched itself into the chrome.

I am also a clean freak so my truck never sits dirty for more than a day or two.

Gravel roads also do a terrible number on chrome wheels, my chrome is starting to flake and peel everywhere the rocks have hit on the wheels.

I am always looking for something that can stand the abuse of gravel and the salt these wheels are subjected to.

I was looking into clear coated, but i'm afraid that the clear coating wont hold up to the gravel.
