The national news led with a similar story about a year ago, in that instance, the baby the eagle snatched, was a small fawn, seems it dropped it into some trees.

We've got some good size Eagles up here but to pick up a baby or a fawn?
Heck they have had trouble snatching up some of the trout from the rivers and flying away!!

PS JJ I think they have disproved the fawn, as it fell into a drift hole around a tree in the winter and got hung up and died then in the spring they found it in the tree.

My uncle was stationed in Alaska many years ago and he said there were stories going around every year of an eagle swooping in on a person. From his understanding it was not intentional, more like a case of mistaken identity Like uncle said theyve got excellent vision so not sure how true that one was. He was at a port one time during crab season and was amazed at how many of them there were flying around the fishery. He was in a bar one night and a guy had scratch marks on his head and claimed one had swooped in and pounced him. Of course, you know how those kind of stories can go a fella whose been out to sea a little too long and the first stop he makes is the watering hole, might have a few tall ones to tell :-laf
