As I recall, the distance pulled is a combination of the truck and its power, the track and how much traction it affords the tires, how much weight has been loaded on the transfer box and how the sled operator sets the transfer gear. If the operator chooses, all street class trucks could pull 450', while all the modifieds and super streets could pull only 250'. Shoot, he could set it so a VW TDI coul pull 400', yet street 4x4s could only pull 200'.
The only way to compare east coast versus west coast trucks is to get them at the same track on the same day, pulling on the same sled settings. And it's happened, thanks to Scott, who pulled modified class at IRP. If the sled had been set so Scott could pull 300' plus at IRP, I do believe the modifieds would've pulled either until they chose to stop, or they ran out of asphalt at the 1/2 mile point.
