Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting Eastern Oregon fishing

This forum seems to be mostly related to hunting sports - so thought I'd contribute some Eastern Oregon - John Day area - fishing info and pics.



Here's some cell phone pics I took yesterday at a local area reservoir fishing outing the - folks seen are my Brother and sister in law, and their boat - we had a nice day (several hours in the morning, actually!) and caught 3 limits of Trout, about half in the 18 1/2 inch range, rest about 16 inches.



While this area of Oregon is rural/remote, it is an extremely popular deer, elk, Antelope and bird hunting area, as well as Bass, steelhead and trout fishing. The tradeoff to the full convenience of large retail shopping malls and abundant services, is the quiet peace and low crime as compared to that of those larger and busier areas.

Where is this lake in eastern Oregon? Looks like a place I'd to try sometime. I drive up to Grants Pass once or twice a month.

It's Unity Reservoir - near the small town of Unity on Hwy 26, between John Day and Ontario Oregon.

Was back there today - caught 8 more - but have too many already, so tossed them all back, so there's still 8 for you...
