So people were telling me that my Crankshaft position sensor was going to be a hard fix... . well it was a breeze. I did not have a lift or anything I just got down there dropped the starter(easy on these things!) and put the new one in according to some instructions found on the internet. the hardest part was taking the ignition wire off the starter solenoid it was kind of stuck! other then that easy day jsut thought I would share it with you

What I've found is the hardest part of this job is getting the old one out without breaking it in the block. Lot's of pen oil, patience and wigging helps it come loose. Once the old one is out from there it's "usually" a breeze.

They were probably talking about the cam position sensor (replaced the Crank position sensor) on later model 2nd gen engines (like my '02). It's positioned under the VP44 and above the vacuum pump. Real PITA to get at without having one or the other pump off.
