you can't get an early 07 with the 5. 9 and the 68RFE can you? It only comes with the 6. 7, right?

thanks,

Cory

I had the same concern when getting my new truck. I got a 07 with a 5. 9 auto (48re) and it works outstanding with a new Torque Converter, Flex Plate, Valve Body, and Smarty. Much nicer than the Stock 6. 7 I test drove. I figure that with the 5. 9 I can go crazy with mods in the future and still pass emission tests.

If you want 6 speeds then get a late 5. 9 with the LATE G56. I went from a DTT built auto in my '01. 5 to the 6 speed stick in my '07 and I LOVE IT! With less than 3,000 miles on it, I got 19. 6 MPG going to LA and back... . BOTH ways were over the Grapevine!

i've got the same truck and want to do the trans. there is some concern over getting CEL with a tighter TC in this truck. not much success in getting a clear picture of the issue from the usual trans builders. what have you experienced and what can you tell us about your set up?

sorry for the hijack, i'll send him a PM.

in a weak effort to stay on topic, i say, don't fear the 6. 7 if you want that 6sp auto real bad.

I read somewhere about somebody being able to put an allison in the dodges, I'm sure it would be very expensive but it would be nice to have the extra gear.
