i just got my truck back from the dealer a couple of weeks ago after getting a new dpf and a drill and tap turbo cleaning . when i picked up the truck the e brake wouldn't work at all in the dealer lot . i got it out on the road and tried it a few times and it began to work . it is working fine now but has one small hick up once in a while at 1600 rpms . when using the e brake , it does just fine until it reaches 1600 rpm and the brake will cut out until it reaches 1500 rpm then works fine until the regular 1100 rpm cut off . it doesn't happen all the time , just some times . the truck is running great otherwise . i was just curious as to what could be causing this . anybody know ?

i just read on another forum that everyone with the latest flash has this happen when the truck goes into regen . anybody know if this is true ?

My exhaust brake is all over the place since the recent updates. It does not produce an even amount of braking power as witnessed before. If I am going down a hill, the brake is oscillating from light to heavy regardless of the gear selected (auto trans).

Does the computer try to vary the braking force based upon speed and anticipated locking of the wheels?

My dealer has added the "looks like a good place for a hole" access port to my turbo. I have also had several flashes.

I have 30K miles. I would estimate that 25K miles has been driven with the CEL illuminated.

i pulled my fifth wheel for the first time after the turbo cleaning this weekend . if it is regening when the turbo cuts out between 1600 and 1500 , then it regened twice on a 55 mile trip while pulling in the mountains . i don't like the turbo cut out while going down a steep grade at all . just when i would slow down for a curve , the ebrake would cut off at 1600 and i would have to get on the brakes . i'm just about ready to delete all this crap .

Some how I don't think I could allow those monkeys that work for the dealer to drill a hole in my Variable Geomotry Turbo Charger. Seems like just too expensive an item to be punching holes in to clean. Thanks God I haven't had to do that one yet and I will continue to use my e brake all the time so I hopefully will never have to. What amazes me the most I think is that we have all allowed them to do this kind of experimentation on our really expensive trucks. I for one will remain my own warranty station. Especially when it comes to something llike a turbo. On my Jeep Liberty Diesel they told me the pcv filling my turbo with oil was normal. THey were right. It isn't right, but it is normal. so I vented it out because it was so full of oil it was running down the block. There is no way these guys are touching my 6. 7. My 2 cents.
