guys we (Todd and i) had a phone conversation about the FPCM and its ability to store, for a lack of better words, fuel flow comparisons.
I told him that if his pump died after putting on the PM3 other than the pump wire nick there is only one other way to tell its had the box and that was to use the Cummins software and look at the fuel flow and vehicle speed ratios that are stored in the FPCM's memory. which most dealers and even some Cummins shops are ill-prepared for.
he is prepared to buy a new pump, he's just wondering

can anyone give us (him) a word of encouragement about the early 98-99 pumps and what his chances of it going south once he puts the box on there, are.
he has an EZ on it now.
