What happened to your old one:confused: You can get them from Cummins with the original configuration if you know the VIN# of the truck and the Engine Serial #. The Engine Serial # is the key. Spendy but it's like original again.

how much is one from cummins? i would like to try a used 1 though. piece of **** wont start i have replaced everyline on it but it stil acts like sumbody shuts the fuel off then turns it on no codes vp 44 related or otherwise

I was told $900 from Cummins. I believe that Doug down Advanced Diesel Technology had one for a 01 Automatic when I called 304-864-3399. You can use any year in a 01 I think. I'd test voltage coming from the LP harness before jumping to conclusions... . very unlikely for the ecm to crap out.

If you want to verify it's the ECM you can swap it with another 01 - if you can find a buddy who will trust you! :-laf

Does the "wait to start" light act normally? Does the lift pump run for 30 seconds when you bump the starter? It might be unlikely for them to crap out, but mine did. Got a used one from a buddy who had swapped one out.

ya the lift pump seems to run okay and the wait to start light seems to work. will the ecm out of a 99 work just to test and see if that makes it start
