I would check all the grounds under the hood including the battery connections and all the ground screws on the qtr panels. (Loosen and tighten them back up, esp the drivers side)
Next, do a load test on the batteries individually - you'll have to disconnect both of them.
If that doesn't yield any results I would then unplug the big connectors from the ECM on the side of the eng and look for corrosion. Some trks of that era had an issue with water getting in this connection.
