I was wondering if a ECM off of a 2001 will work on a 2000 truck without doing any changes. Wonder if it will run without any problems. Both are 24 valve and 5 speed. Any thoughts????

I would say "probably", can you tell how close the build dates are? Back in 2000 a lot of trucks were produced causing a 2000 truck to be labeled 2001's

give it a shot, you wont hurt anything

The ecm's were 4 months apart... . Well I tried the swap and it did not work. Truck ran ruff and spit and suddered. Now we know... .

2000 and 2001 were the years that split the cam and crank position sensors (2000) and just having a cam position sensor (2001). I have an early 2001 truck and I aquired a mopar HO ECM for a 2000 truck for the purpose of having Marco make it run. Just for giggles I tried it on my truck as it was and it did not run well because the signal for the tach wasn't right.
