1998.5 24v, 250k miles, auto trans, edge comp box
Couple months ago I was leaving a wedding an was showing off, got on it pretty hard then out of no where "check Engine" light came on an truck lost all power. Turned it off an restarted, it high rev'ed & idled higher than normal. Unplug the batteries and apps reset, still the same
Put it on a scanner had apps/tps code, p1689 no bus & p1693(I think, do remember it was a companion code)
After getting it home I noticed the vp was loose(nuts had backed off), bought new nuts, toqued everything down(pump nut was still tight), put a cheapo Amazon apps/tps sensor in, bled the system of air, hooked a battery charger to it an it fired up and ran perfect for 20+ mins. Unhooked charger drove out 100' out the driveway "check engine" came on an done same thing, no power, like it was defueling or something, got back restart(no battery charger) was the, high rev an idle high.
This morning I hooked battery charger up an it started fine an ran for a good 45+mins, started a few times with & without charger running, done great, until I have it fuel, would cut out around 1500 rpms & check engine light comes back on(would keep clearing it)
This time only codes are the no bus & companion
What y'all think bad cell in batteries, alternator dieing, wiring harness messed up or vp/ecm taking a crap.
Trucks been down since Sept/Oct., alot of money for a yard ornament....
Any ideas are greatly appreciated
