I have had a call from a customer installing a PacBrake Exhaust and his new truck has wiring installed from the factory to pins 39 & 42... ...



The truck is 1000 miles from us and the customer could be making a mistake on how he see's the pins... ... ... ...



Have any of you seen this... ...

According to my '02 manual pin 39 is used for sci bus receive (vehicle communication system ) I WOULD NOT tap this! Pin 42 is NOT used at all from factory. This applies to the ECM (Cummins computer).
 
On my 2003 I found pins 39 and 42 vacant on the rear 50 pin connector (like they should be). Don't know if the front connector uses them or not. The black plastic connector has the pin numbers stamped in the ends (10,20,30,40 and 19,29,39,49) and sides (40,41,42,43,44,45,46,47,48,49) to help in determining pin locations.
