Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Ecm ?

I have a 98. 5 24v auto, will a ecm from a 99 std work.

It has more hp and same p/n just different cal. #.

I don't believe it will work because you have the auto. From what I understand the auto ECM will work in a standard but not vise versa. I tried to put a 2000 ECM in my early 2001 and it wouldn't run right.
