Don't know about having it tested, but just checked with dealer for one on a '99 and was quoted $1700 list. There is a computer exchange in Florida where you can get it for if I remember less than $700.

What year is your truck? And if a 2001 do you have drum or disc brakes, vacuum or electronic cruise control?

I have a used ECM, will have to look and see what year it is.

Godspeed,
Trent

The place in Florida is Auto Computer Exchange $495 for an ecm for my 01 rebuilt/remanufactured so they say. The first one they sent me didnt work well. They sent me out another one right away though and it seems to be working fine.

I too dealt with the company out of Florida. Some have had horrible experiences but mine was good. Fast shipping and no issues with the ecm. Mine clearly was a used one that had been cleaned up..... just my . 02

Tell us what year your truck is and why you need a ECM.

It could be the VP if you are having issues.

2002, disc brakes. the truck starts some times and other times it wont start it just cranks over. but when it runs it runs good. no misses or dead pedal or anything it just wont start most times. i have fuel coming out of the injecters. 2002 comp box, fass 95gph w/fil, high ram, aem intake, stage 3 jammers

Any codes? Cycle the key three times, stopping with it in the on position. Codes appear in the odo window.

P0232-FUEL SHUT-OFF SIGNAL VOLTAGE TOO HIGH (according to smarty code book, doesn't have the code in chrysler)

p0234 is overboost don't worry about it

p1693 don't worry about it

you running the comp? try unhooking it and see if the problem goes away

Ive been having problems getting on dealerconnect, when I get a chance I will get you the diag. for the 0232 never heard of that code before.

k found that there actually isn't any diagnostics for the 0232 code for 01-02 trucks, here is what it said

Case Number K78947385

Vehicle Issue Malfunction Indicator Lamp. P0232 is logged. ;P0232 diagnostics are not found in 2001 and 2002 Powertrain Diagnostic Information sources. Diagnostic information for this fault code can be found in 1998 / 1999 / 2000 Model Year Powertrain Diagnostic Manuals (and TechConnect).

System or Component DTC / Error Message;Injection Pump

Recommendation In addition to the diagnostics outlined in the diagnostic information for this code, check the fuel supply system (reference TSB 14-002-03. Also check the Fuel Pump Control Module power and ground connections. It is recommended to load test the circuit with a headlight bulb or other similar high current draw test (up to 20 amps). If there are no wiring problems found and the fuel supply system is operating to the guidelines in TSB 14-002-03, the most likely problem is an internal fuel injection pump problem.

when you crank with no start do you hear the FP run for 20 seconds? I had my ecm reflashed and got everything back to normal.

tried it with the comp unhooked no difference. the lift pump does run for bout 25- 30 seconds i have fuel up to the vp. the truck will start some times and it runs fine but other times it doesnt start at all

where are you located? If you are in Nor California I have a spare ECM we could try. I may even have a dealer connection if it needs to be flashed for a different drivetrain combo.

I was told from a dealer tech all 24v engine modules are the same. auto or man & no stored vin#. We were going to try a temp swap in my truck. I don't know about HO's.

Interesting I was told they need to program in VIN # and mileage so I and the MOPAR show different part numbers for STD and Auto Trans ECMs. So I don,t know maybe should check further on this. If you check 2 high output horsepower rating was only available on STD trans trucks as well.

Did you solve the problem yet?

nope not yet still tryin to figure it out
Try this:

In the PDC (Power Distribution Center) which is located on the driver's side fender under the hood, try swapping out the relay marked "ASD" for another non-essential relay such as the one marked "WIPER" or "HORN. " If that improves the starting, then replace the defective relay and you're all set.

If that doesn't work, you might also try swapping out the relay located on the lower left side marked "FUEL PUMP" or it could be marked "FUEL INJECTION" or words to that effect.

Those relays are common and should be available at any good auto parts store, or online from MoparPartsAmerica, Dodge part number 4671168.

Let us know if that works,

John L.
