A couple of months ago someone here posted a message that Edelbrock was looking for 3rd gen trucks to prototype an exaust system. I filled out the form on their web site that day. I got a call from them last week asking for the use of my truck. The truck is there now being fitted with the prototype. When I get it back tomorrow it will have the stock system back on it. When they have production units available, they will have me bring the truck back in for installation. I wasn't planning on doing any mods until my warranty was expired but I can't wait any longer. My truck is a Cali model with 235hp (I think thats what the engine is rated at), I'm not particularly thrilled with power output (I'm a bit envious of the new 610's). I figure the cost of trading up to one of the new trucks would be more than the cost to replace the engine if I smoke it, so it's time to start bombing :D :D :D I'm kind of glad I will have the stock exaust system for a little while longer so that I have time to get guages on so that I can see if it makes any difference.

I filled out the same form and one for Gibson Performance Exhaust. Gibson called me last week and had my truck for 2 days. I don't use the truck during the week because the city gives me a work car to thrash. I picked up the truck the other day and got a 4" turbo back with a 5" tip FREE. The thing sounds way better.

I just installed my new AirRaid cold air box.

Now, a few gauges and I am about done. .

ps: they also removed that resonator (spelling) What does that thing do anyways?

Hey nickleinonen, I am not sure what the heck the thing was. I an a new TRD owner. It was a cone shaped thing just before the muffler. .

if your truck is a CARB emissions truck [cali, maine, mass, NY, ???] it was a cat. if your truck is one of them 600's, it was the cat...

i don't think any 3rd gen had a resonator...

so yes, another cat is dead :D:D:D

Whats the prototype an exhaust manifold or exhaust system? I like Edelbrock product and I’m glad to see them get into Diesel.

John, I had my '03 3500, 5. 9 long bed in their shop on 11/08/04 for 2 days. Dennis gave me a Ford Focus as a loaner while they duplicated my exhaust. He stayed that they wanted to do the '04 and '05 long bed models to ensure the same configuration. I was to have called them as of last Monday to set up a date to have a FREE 4" exhaust system installed on my vehicle. I have a signed letter to ensure an exhaust system to be installed by Edelbrock. i responded 12/07 by calling Dennis but have not received an answer as of yet. Please keep me posted as to your activity. Don Greiber. -- email address removed --

Don,

Dennis gave me a PT Cruiser to use while they had my truck. I own a Focus and would have rather had a Focus, I wasn't impressed by the PT, but it did get me home and back. In my situation I have a Short Bed and was told the production systems would be ready mid January. I didn't ask if this was the date for all of the '03 systems or just the short bed version so I don't know if the long bed versions are due out any sooner.
